Danube Palace (or Duna Palace, in Hungarian "Duna-palota")

The Duna Palace (or Danube Palace) in Budapest downtown was opened in 1897 and since then it is venue of concerts and other major events. Until 1945 it was the headquarters of the Lipótváros Casino club, and among others the American writer Mark Twain and Antonín Dvořák Czech composer were also appeared within its walls, in the context of fundraising or other charitable events.

Bust statue of Ferenc Liszt Hungarian composer

The bronze bust statue of the world-famous Hungarian composer and pianist Ferenc Liszt is created by Katalin Gerő sculptor originally in 2011. Initially it was created for the "Year of Franz Liszt 2011" event in Poland, it was inaugurated in the Łazienki Park (in Polish "Park Łazienkowski", literally means "Royal Baths Park") in Warsaw, next to the Chopin monument. After some time the Hungarian Embassy in Belgrade, Serbia erected a copy of the statue in front of the Belgrade Music Academy in the elegant Manjež Park.

The second copy of the Ferenc Liszt's bust was placed in Budapest downtown in 2013, it is standing at the junction of the Nádor Street and Zrínyi Street in a wall niche on the corner of the Duna Palace. The first home of Ferenc Liszt in Hungary was in the Nádor Street, as well as the composer helped the construction of the nearby St. Stephen's Basilica by donations, so that's why this location was chosen for the statue.
